Jurassic World: shadow of its former glory

Image result for jurassic worldJurassic Park is one of those movies I watched long long time ago. It brings back lots of memories, especially watching movies in those old style of big cinema, compare to the current cineplex experience. I hope I could rekindle similar memories and sentiment with Jurassic World; but there are hits and miss throughout the film.

Jurassic World, built on the same island as the original park, now became world famous attractions with different dinosaurs. Imagine having a theme park where one can ride on dinosaur, practically ride with them and watch the T-Rex eat. Eventually people's interest will wane off and this is where the management had to come up with new ideas to rejuvenate the interest. Sounds familiar? Instead of letting the series dies off, the studio decided to rejuvenate the interest in the movies with the current Jurassic World film. However, the scientists in the movies are far more unethical by combining a different genes to breed a new alpha dinosaur. Something that can kill the rest of the species, smart enough to escape the human enclosure, change the color of skin and even able to hide their heat signals. Throw in the usual damsel-not-to-much- in-distress and the usual hero and we have a nearly complete package. Throw in some family values where heroine in the movie try desperately to save her nephews. The only probable new thing here is the new bond between man and velociraptor where they came in as hero at the climax. Yup, that may be spoiler of sort, but in the beginning of the movie, it is so apparently already.

Yup, the dinosaur fights are exciting. The action seems real. And as the usual formula, we do not pity the humans for messing in nature. The one liner felt funny at times. The formula should work, as in Jurassic Park, but as the movie suggest, the interest sort of wane, and they desperate need something to rejuvenate the series. Jurassic World is not what they need. It is an averagely good and entertaining movie, but far from reviving the series.
