it is always a headache to decide where to eat at lunch especially long lunch break like fri. not long enuf to travel far, but too long to eat so near.
n i didnt know there was a Mapoh restaurant near Tesco/ Jusco. there only Mapoh I frequent is near Wooley in Ipoh garden. Some more, it is called First Mapoh...not sure whether it is the same owner...
the restaurant was full when I enter. that is a good sign. biz is brisk, everyone is so busy. the menu is simple, the usual chinese fare for lunch. single dish plus rice. normal meat such as chicken, pork chops, ribs cooked in sweet sour sauce, thai sauce, seafood.... more than 20 items that i can see. order the day's special which is pigs leg in thai sauce while wife ordered seafood cooked in thai hot sauce... it is really surprisingly nice! bit salty to eat on its own but once eaten with rice, it is nicely paired. didnt manage to steal the food from other frens for taste, but can see the pork chop is rather big size. the price is a steal, RM4-6 per dish plus the rice.
i would definitely come back again, though the cooking is rather cliche, but is a nice one. love it!
