Folie-folie cafe & grill: decent, but not briliant

It is wife birthday, we decided to eat out. At first we went to Macoy, but it is opening only at 6pm, we were lazy to wait around. Since we had not try Folie Folie yet, so we decided to give it a try.

Situated behind Ipoh Hospital, at the corner bungalow, look for
Pakeeza and just drive along the street. It is a big white bungalow with huge parking areas around. However, it shares the same building with a club and a pub, which we accidentally enter. Paiseh!

First, the cafe and grill is the nicely decorated, one can have the option of eating inside or out in the open. It did not matter much. There is even a small corner for the band to play, just not very sure when do they sing. Since we were the first couple there, service was fast, even though the waiter who served us is new and nearly took the wrong order, his colleague is fast enough to rectify the error.

The menu is leaning towards western, with few local oriental delight such as laksa and rice. The normal grilled chicken, steak, fish chips are there with pasta. There is even bit of Mexican food here as well. We decided to eat something heavy, I ordered grilled chicken steak with garlic sauce (RM15.80). First, the chicken portion is rather small, however, after finishing the large portion of fries which comes with it, certainly it is enough to feed my hunger. The taste is good, though the meat is too dry, not juicy enough. The taste also lack of herbs which I would expect since Tammys kitchen. Wife ordered quasadilla (RM 14.50), which was rather nice. The chicken and the cheese was plenty, simply better than the ones in Davids Diner. To top it up, we shared a mocktail, lemon breeze (RM 6.30) which was surprisingly nice with tinge of lemon with peppermint.

Overall, the dinner was rather decent, the place is comfortable, but still far from perfect.

Ratings: 3 poink!
Comments: no worry in finding parking; that is one big plus point, however, total tax is 11% which is rather steep if you ask me.
